Start a Christian Fellowship in your workplace
Christians in any company are literally, a God-send, a potential power-house of good for the life of the business.
As a CIP member you may feel the time is right to start a Group within your own organisation. Perhaps you think you are the only Christian in your company but once a group is advertised on your noticeboard, or via your intranet you may well find there are others there, too. (The BT Christian fellowship founded in April 2005 now has over 1000 members!)
Even if we are just a few colleagues meeting weekly before work or at lunchtime to pray together and read the Bible, the Bible tells us not to despise small beginnings – Others may in time build to offer conferences, and Alpha courses running in-house.
Many organisations are now actively adopting Diversity programmes, and if yours is such a company then they should be encouraged to welcome a Christian group into the life of the organisation. Christians in the Audit Commission, for example, are now regularly consulted by senior management and are actively influencing the core of the institution for good. For further information on how this has been achieved contact Jeff Steady
If you would like further guidance on starting a group contact Ros Turner at the CWF for guidelines.
Keen to publicise the name of Jesus more than our own, we also recommend the following websites for guidance in helping you to establish a Christian prayer fellowship in your organisation.
